Following the 2023 presidential campaign poster, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has debunked claims that he is part or involved in the posters bearing his name which was seen in some areas of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The statement which was made by the state commissioner for information and communications, Paulinus Nsirim, informed members of the public to disregard such information circulating in Abuja as the governor is preoccupied with issues that concerns the state and he’s also putting efforts to make Rivers State a better place and destination of choice.
Nsirim who called it the ‘handiwork of mischief makers’, claims they are threatened by Wike’s rising political profile and will do everything within their power to distract his visionary leadership.
“The attention of Governor Nyesom Wike has been drawn to campaign posters bearing his name which flooded some major streets of Abuja. For the avoidance of doubt, Governor Wike has not informed anyone that he is interested in the Presidency of this country.” The statement reads.
