The members of the Nigerian House of Representatives have urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare the bandits a terrorists group.
This comes barely 24hours after the Senate called on the President to do the same.
The decision was moved by Babajimi Benson a member of the house of representatives on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
According to Benson the move will ensure that bandits and their sponsors will be prosecuted under the terrorism prevention act.

“Such an order will officially bring the activities of bandits and their sponsors within the purvey of the terrorism prevention act. And any person associated with such groups can then be prosecuted and sentenced to penalties in the act.” He stated.
However, the federal government has refused to tag bandits as terrorists despite repeated calls by Nigerians to do so.
