Imo State Government Alleged To Have Sealed All Banks Who Obeyed IPOB Sit-At-Home Order.

According to reports the Imo state government revealed that it sealed some banks Owerri, the state capital for obeying the IPOB Monday Sit-At-Home order.

Several bank customers were left stranded on Tuesday as the officials of the Imo State Government shut all the banks along Bank Road in the state capital.

Sources reveal that all the banks on Assumpta Avenue popularly known as Bank Road had a sticker with the seal of OCDA and a red tape, except Zenith Bank which is undergoing reconstruction.

Responding to the incident the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said that the state government sealed the banks because they frustrated customers on Monday by refusing to open for transactions.

Some of the financial institutions that were sealed by the state government were Access, Polaris, First Bank, Eco Bank and United Bank for Africa.
