Anambra Elections: President Buhari Congratulates Governor-Elect, Charles Soludo.

Following the conclusion of the Anambra State governorship election, President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on his victory on his victory as the governor-elect.

In a statement via his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, President Buhari commended the security operatives hitherto deployed to the state to ensure residents’ safety during the exercise despite perceived security threats.

According to him, he looks forward to working with the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, on security and other issues bedeviling the nation.

“I congratulate Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) — and a member of the Presidential Economic Advisory Committee (PEAC) — on his victory in the Anambra State gubernatorial election.

“I commend the security agencies for their determination to ensure that the election went on as smoothly as possible, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the successful conclusion of the exercise, despite the initial challenges encountered.

“I enjoin Prof Soludo to rally other stakeholders to tackle the enormous challenges confronting Anambra State and the Southeast in general.

“I look forward to working with him for the peace, security and development of Anambra State and the entire country”.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wedneday, declared Charles Chukwuma Soludo as winner of the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election having polled a total of 112,229 votes.

Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR is a Nigerian economics professor and a former governor and chairman of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Soludo was named governor on 29 May 2004.
