Manchester United Appoints Michael Carrick As It’s Interim Manager After Ole Sack.

English Premier League club, Manchester United, have appointed former midfielder, Michael Carrick as it’s new interim manager following the sack of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.” The club wrote on it’s website following Ole’s sack.

Michael Carrick will hope he can turn the table around when he takes charge of his first game in the UEFA Champions League against Villareal on Tuesday, November 24th, 2021 before travelling to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

The sack of Solskjaer was announced on Manchester United’s website on Sunday, November 21st, 2021. The decision to sack the Norwegian followed a series of bad results in the past weeks.

The efforts of the 48-year-old were appreciated in an official statement on the club’s website. They thanked him for his efforts both as a player and as a manager and the door of the club is always open to him.

“Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long term success. Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a manager who gave us many great moments. He will be welcome back to Old Trafford at the Manchester United family. Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.” The club wrote.

Manchester United have been on their worse form for the first time in six years. The Red Devils have only managed to win a game in their last seven Premier League matches.
