See What Messi Told Xavi After He Was Unveiled As Barcelona Coach.

Recently appointed Barcelona FC coach Xavi Hernandez has revealed that his former team-mate Lionel Messi sent him a message following his appointment as the club’s new manager.

At his presentation on Monday, Xavi stated that Messi sent him a good luck message. He said:

“Messi sent me a message offering me good luck. He is the best player in the history of the club but he is not here anymore. We have the players that we have and we will work with them.”

Xavi also downplayed the similarities drawn between him and former Barcelona coach Guardiola, who also coached Xavi and is currently in charge of Manchester City.

“I have really clear ideas, we are not in our best moment but we want to play good football and get results If they compare me to Guardiola then it’s something very positive, he’s the best manager in the world. I understand the pressure, I’m at the best club in the world. Expectations are great, we have to work hard to win many trophies.” He said.

As the club continues to struggle, former coach Ronald Koeman was recently axed, giving room for Xavi to take over as head coach, after having a successful spell as the coach of a Qatar club named Al Sadd.

Xavi Hernandez, who came through the La Masia kids’ academy just like Lionel Messi, is one of the legendary figures of Barcelona, making 767 appearances and scoring 85 goals while creating 185 assists for the Spanish Giants.
