Goya Menor’s “Ameno Amapiano – Remix” Removed From Spotify Over Licensing Issue.

Popular music streaming platform, Spotify, has removed trending song “Ameno Amapiano – Remix” by Nigerian singer and music producer, Goya Menor from it’s platform.

The music streaming platform is reported to have pulled down the song over the possibility of licensing issues.

The song, owned by Nigerian hypeman Goya Menor and Ghanaian record producer Nektunez, samples “Ameno’ by French new-age musical project Era.

A quotable line in the song is; “…You want to bam ba, You want to chill with the big boys, Na you dey run kitikiti you dey run katakata no fit drink water drop cup… “

According to music publishing rights, to sample any form of intellectual property, it is expected that the party that owns such property be contacted and the said sample be “cleared”.

The Amapiano remix, which has the Gregorian chant from the original song, has become a global tune, with TikTok playing a major role in the spread.
