Popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has reacted to Shatta Wale’s attack against Nigerian artistes with a statement that many find controversial.

Stonebwoy stated that Shatta Wale, was right to blame Nigerian artistes the way he did.

However, he did not present his statement appropriately, was indeed pointing his fingers towards the right path.

In a statement released via Twitter on Thursday, December 30, Stonebwoy wrote, “My brother Shatta Wale’s approach may be wrong but the topic of our brother nation Nigeria not reciprocating the love and support it receives particularly from Ghana is valid and deserves critical attention.”

“Accordingly, our Nigerian brothers must consider that with great power comes great responsibility of helping to forge a united African front by deliberately allowing music from the other African countries which pollinate Nigerian music to flourish to flourish on Nigerian platforms on local and international level”. He added.

In his statement, Stonebwoy stated that the success the Nigerian music industry enjoys is “due to the strength of its population …”

Recently Shatta Wale has publicly shown his resentment and jealousy towards Nigerian musicians.

One of such happened during his Freedom Concert, where he said; “do you know that majority of people in the Ghana music industry are fools?”

“They told me that I won’t be able to fill my stadium. I don’t look up to any stupid Nigeria artiste I look up to my fans. Fuck Nigeria”.
