The goalkeeper and captain of the Guinea Bissau national team, Jonas Azevedo Mendes has revealed that he had rather die than have the Super Eagles win in their last group stage match of the on-going AFCON 2021 tournament.
Mendes, who is the team’s first-choice goalkeeper said they will be out in full force to battle the Super Eagles for a victory.
Asked if there was any particular player in the Eagles team they were targeting, Mendes said;
“we know Nigeria is a good team. It will be a mistake to target any particular player. We are facing all of them with equal attention,” he said.
The Super Eagles take on Guinea-Bissau in their final Group D match on Wednesday January 19.
