Manchester United forward, Mason Greenwood has been arrested by the UK Police on suspicion of rape and physical assault on his girlfriend, Harriet Robson.
The twenty-year-old Englishman was arrested was arrested on suspicion of the offences on Sunday following allegations made on social media.
His 18-year-old girlfriend claimed she suffered serious injuries at the hands of Greenwood, who is yet to comment on the allegations.
A number of shocking pictures – including one of her lip bleeding badly – and a horrific voice recording were posted on social media.
The disturbing images appeared to show the woman bloodied and bruised. In the voice recording, the footballer was heard forcing his girl to have sex with him.

Shortly after the messages emerged online, his club, Manchester United put out a statement saying it was aware of them and they were making inquiries ‘to establish the full circumstances’.
It added: ‘Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.’
United have confirmed the player will not be available for selection or allowed to train with his team-mates until further notice.
However, they haven’t formally suspended Greenwood, meaning he is expected to be paid his £100,000-a-week salary in full. His existing deal expires in 2025, Mirror UK reports.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester police said they had launched an investigation after being made ‘aware of online social media images and videos posted by a woman reporting incidents of physical violence’.
He added: ‘Following inquiries we can confirm a man in his 20s has since been arrested on suspicion of rape and assault. He remains in custody for questioning. Inquiries are ongoing.’
Forensic officers also arrived at Greenwood’s £2million mansion in the upmarket village of Bowdon, Cheshire, yesterday evening to get more details on the incident.
