Woman stabs her husband’s nephew to death because he broke her mirror in Ogun State.

A woman identified as Cynthia Olukiowu, is said to have fatally murdered her husband’s nephew, Habeeb Aremu.

30-year-old Olukiowu who resides at 2, Apogidonoyo street, Jafa Agbado, Ogun State, was apprehended yesterday after Agbado division police received a distress call claiming she had stabbed the 18-year-old teenager to death after accusing him of breaking a mirror.

It was discovered that a little quarrel had erupted about who broke the mirror, which escalated into the woman taking a knife from the kitchen and stabbing the youngster to death.

Confirming the incident on Sunday, Ogun State police P.R.O Omobola Oyeyemi, disclosed that the allegation about the broken mirror “led to a disagreement between the deceased and his uncle’s wife, subsequent upon which the suspect took a kitchen knife and used it to stab the deceased on his neck.”

According to Oyeyemi, the DPO of Agbado division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, had upon the distress call, led his men to the scene, where the suspect was arrested.

He said the man, who was found in a pool of his own blood, was transported to the hospital, where the doctor on duty verified his death, and his body was deposited in the Ifo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Meanwhile, Lanre Bankole, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the State CIID’s homicide department for further investigation and prosecution.
