#LegitLists: 4 Artistes That Surprisingly Didn’t Get Nominated For The 2022 Headies Award.

The organisers of the prestigious Headies award on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 made a big announcement on the nominees of the 2022 Headies Award.

The organisers released the list of artistes nominated in different categories and although some people believe this is the best Headies nomination list yet, others assume the organisers left out some artistes who deserved to be nominated for at least a category.

Some of this artistes were snubbed despite the impact they created in the music scene within the Year-In -Review, which covers from October 2020 – December 2021.

Five Artistes That Surprisingly Didn’t Get Nominated For The 2022 Headies Award inlcude;

CKAY.

Despite receiving a couple of international awards, topping charts in hundreds of countries, becoming the most subscribed Afrobeat Artist with over 3.15 million Subscribers with regards to his song “Love Nwantiti”, CKAY failed to get a single nomination at the 2022 Headies Awards. However, the only valid reason for this is because his “Love Nwantiti” track was not released within the year in review, which covers from October 2020 – December 2021.

VICTONY.

Victony was a rave last year and we feel the Headies award nomination this year is incomplete without him. Victony was the voice behind the thrilling hook in Mayorkun’s hit single “Holy Father“.

MAYORKUN.

Headies award 2019, next rated, pop album and hip-hop world revelation of the year winner, Mayorkun was also surprising missing from the nomination list. Despite the rave from his hit single “Holy Father” featuring Victony, the DMW singer was snubbed by the headies this year in all categories.

CHEQUE.

Cheque has already disclosed his displeasure at the organisers of the Headies awards for been left out of the nomination list this year.

According to Cheque the Headies failure to recognise him is the reason why Hip Hop in Nigeria has remained static.

He further stated that he will continue dropping hits despite his lack of recognition by the award organiser.
