Switching careers or playing multiple career roles can sometimes be exciting and beneficial, most especially when one becomes successful at it.

Although it is never easy making the switch from acting to singing, there are several Nollywood actors and actresses have trailed that path however very few have been successful with it.

In this post we’ll take a look at some Nollywood stars who have tried their hands on music but failed at it.

TONTO DIKEH.

Popular Nollywood star, Tonto Dike is one of the several Nollywood stars who have tried their hands on music. The singer released “Get High” and “It’s over”, but the tracks were not accepted by Nigerians.

GENEVIEVE NNAJI.

Genevieve is widely referred to as one of the best Nigerians to grace the TV screens as an actress but not as a musician. The actress released a song titled “No More” in 2005, but the song was not appreciated by her fans and that stopped her advancement as a music artist, She has however screen played in several music videos since then.

NKEM OWOH

Popularly known as Osuofia veteran actor Nkem Owoh was one Nollywood actor who tried out his handds on music. He released not less than 5 videos to promote his music career, including songs such as: I Go Chop Your Dollar, Olamma, Akalaka, Marry Me and School Na Good Thing, but success did not come.

OMOTOLA JALADE EKEINDE.

Omotola, popularly known as Omo Sexy, in 2005 also tried her talent in music. She released two singles “Gba” and “Missing You”. The actress however didn’t have a successful music career.

JIM IYKE.

Nollywood’s bad boy, Jim Iyke also released some songs in 2009 titled ‘Who Am I’ featuring one of Nigeria’s popular musicians, Tuface Idibia. Despite delving into music the Nollywood star didn’t have a successful career.
