Nigeria’s Super Falcons and Barcelona Women’s team forward player, Asisat Oshoala has been nominated for the 2022 Ballon d’Or Women player of the year award.

Oshoala was nominated for the award because of her exploits with Barcelona during the just concluded 2021/22 football season. Oshoala was given the award for the highest goal scorer in the league, won the CAF women player of the year award and she is a huge favourite for the Ballon D’Or award.

She is the first person to win the CAF award five times. If she wins the award she will become the first Nigerian to be crowned a Ballon d’Or winner.
