DSS Reacts to An Alert by the U.S Embassy of a Planned Terror Attack in Abuja.

The Department of State Services (DSS) have responded to an alert by the United States of America embassy of a planned terror attack in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria.

This reaction comes after the United State Embassy yesterday alerted its nationals of a possible terror attack in Abuja.

The DSS has however, called for calm as it works with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja.

According to Peter Afunanya, the agency’s Public Relations Officer, citizens have been advised to take necessary precautions and urged anyone with relevant information to reach out to security agencies around them.

“While advising that necessary precautions are taken by all and sundry, the populace is enjoined to remain alert and assist security agencies with useful information regarding threats and suspicious criminal acts around them. Meanwhile, the Service calls for calm as it works with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja,” his statement read in part.
