Karim Benzema Announces Retirement From International Football. (See Details)

France international and Real Madrid Football Club forward, Karim Benzema has announced his retirement from international football.

The forward made this known on Monday, December 19th, 2022 via a post on his social media pages. On Instagram Benzema wrote;

“I made the effort and mistakes it took to be where I am today and I’m proud of it! I wrote my story and ours ends. #Nueve“.

This was then confirmed via an Instagram post by popular sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, who disclosed that the 2022 Ballon D’or winner has left the French national team with immediate effect.

“Karim Benzema has announced his retirement from international football as he leaves the French national team with immediate effect, it’s confirmed 🔴🇫🇷

97 games, 37 goals and it’s now officially over,” Fabrizio wrote.
