Pele’s Death: There Will Be a Minute Silence Prior To Kick Off, EPL Confirms.

The administrators of the English Premier League have announced that all teams and players in the league will have to pay a condolence tribute to late Brazilian football legend, Edson Arantes Nascimento popularly known as Pele.

The announcement was made on its official Twitter account on Friday, December 30th, 2022. Players and officials will also wear black armbands in honor of Pele.

“In tribute to Pele, Premier League clubs will remember his contribution to football during Matchweek 18 (Dec 30-Jan 1) by holding a minute’s applause prior to kick-offs. Players and match officials will wear black armbands,” the body stated.
