Davido sets notable records with “Timeless” album release. (SEE THEM)

Popular Nigerian singer, David “Davido” Adeleke has set several notable records following the release of his fifth studio project “Timeless”.

After months of silence following the tragic occurrence in 2022, Davido re-enforced why he is viewed as one of the biggest African artist in the world today with his fifth studio album titled ‘Timeless.’

‘Timeless’ peaked at number one on the Apple Music Top albums chart for the UK and it became only the second afrobeats album to ever achieve this feat.

Davido’s ‘Timeless’ became the first and only afrobeats album to debut all tracks in the top 100 of the Apple Music top songs chart for the UK. The singer also became the first afrobeats artist to debut 10 tracks in the top 200 of the Apple music top songs chart for the US as well.

‘Timeless’ also became the highest charting Nigerian album on the Apple Music top albums chart for the US as it peaked at number 2 on the chart.
It also became the first Nigerian album to record the biggest opening day of over 7.5 million streams on Boomplay surpassing the record previously held by Burna Boy with ‘Love Damini’ at over 3.5 million streams.

On Spotify Nigeria, the 17-track album tallied 4.91 million streams on its first day of release surpassing the previous record of 1.36M by Burna Boy‘s Love, Damini’ (July 8, 2022).

Biggest First Day Streams For An African Album On Spotify – ‘Timeless‘ recorded 8.4 million streams on the first full day of tracking. With this total number of streams it became the first African album to record that huge number of streams on the first day after its release.

Davido also leads the biggest second-day streams by albums on Spotify Nigeria since 2022.

Davido occupied the top 16 position for the biggest first day streams for a song on the spotify Nigeria chart. ‘Over Dem’ took the number one spot with over 460,000 streams on the first day of tracking.
