Gunmen Launch Attack on UNTH, Abduct Deputy Director and Another Individual

In a distressing development, heavily armed gunmen targeted the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) in Ituku Ozalla, Enugu State. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, resulting in the abduction of a female deputy director of nursing services and a security personnel by the assailants.

An SUV, believed to belong to the kidnapped nurse, was discovered abandoned with bullet holes on the passenger side.

As of now, both the Enugu State Police Command and the Hospital management have not officially confirmed the attack. However, a reliable source disclosed that this incident took place at the same location where a medical doctor was abducted a few weeks ago.

Expressing concern, the source stated, “This is so sad; we are not safe at all in this hospital; everywhere is porous.”
