Adekunle Gold Launches “Bobo” ft. Lojay & Shoday + “Fuji”

Hot on the heels of his recent song ‘Coco Money’, the global Afropop trailblazer Adekunle Gold releases his brand new single ‘Bobo’ and announces his highly-anticipated, forthcoming album FUJI – which is out on October 3rd.

Sublimely merging tradition and heritage – with the use of the symbolic West African talking drums which historically were used to mimic speech and whose palpable and hypnotizing percussion are heard at social events in Nigeria and across the diaspora until today –  with futuristic sonics, ‘Bobo’ sees Adekunle Gold defiantly ushering in a new era of sound and creativity.

With the help of fellow Nigerian music talents Lojay and Shoday, on the Niphkeys and Seyifunmi produced track, Adekunle Gold deftly mixes witty wordplay in Yoruba and English to declare his intention to continue celebrating life and the many successes he has earned.

Following the critical acclaim of his previous singles ‘Obimo’ and ‘Coco Money’ and now with the inevitable hit status of ‘Bobo’, Adekunle Gold is poised to release his sixth studio album FUJI on October 3rd.

Set to be his most vulnerable and soul-baring project to date, the album will be a bold fusion of past and present where rich instrumentation meets contemporary Nigerian pop alongside AG Baby’s signature lyrical confidence – which will signal not only a new era for Adekunle Gold but both the culture and sound coming out of Nigeria to a global audience.

In addition to the forthcoming new project, Adekunle Gold has been announced to participate in the Gumball 3000 rally later this month, where he will also perform alongside the likes of Eve, Afrojack and J Balvin at the 300,000 capacity music festival on the Bucharest stop of the event.

This comes ahead of his show with the Guildhall Session Orchestra at London’s Royal Festival Hall on November 23rd as a part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
