Ella Questions BRT Service After Early Morning Delay

It was early in the morning when Ella, popularly known online as a BRT content creator, shared her frustration. She said she arrived at the bus stop by 6 a.m., expecting to meet the new transport arrangement she believed had been made permanent. But instead, there was no bus in sight.

In her words, she sounded confused and disappointed. She had planned her day around the change, assuming it was here to stay. Standing there with other commuters, watching time pass without movement, she began to wonder if Nigerians had misunderstood the announcement or if the system had quietly returned to its old ways.

Her question, “Were we fooled?” struck a chord with many people who rely on public transport daily. In a city where timing can determine how the entire day goes, any inconsistency feels heavy.

Beyond one missing bus, the moment reflects a bigger issue. When policies or changes are introduced, people adjust their routines and expectations quickly. If communication is unclear or implementation is inconsistent, frustration builds just as fast.

For many commuters, it wasn’t just about that morning. It was about trust, planning, and the simple hope that when something is promised as permanent, it truly is.
