Veteran Nollywood actress Eucharia Anunobi has opened up about the painful loss of her son, Raymond Ekwu, revealing details she believes point to medical negligence during his treatment.
Speaking about the tragic experience, the actress shared that a serious mistake allegedly occurred at the hospital during a critical moment in her son’s care. According to her, instead of performing a blood transfusion as required, a student doctor mistakenly carried out a blood extraction.
In her words, the doctor reportedly removed three pints of her son’s blood rather than administering the transfusion that was meant to help stabilize him. For Anunobi, the moment remains deeply painful and difficult to forget.
Raymond passed away in 2017 at the age of 15 after battling complications related to sickle cell disease. Over the years, the actress has spoken about her grief, faith, and the emotional journey of losing a child, often using her story to encourage others facing similar struggles.
Her recent remarks have once again sparked conversations about medical accountability, the training of healthcare professionals, and the importance of proper supervision in hospitals. For many people listening to her story, it is not just about the past, but about the need to prevent such tragedies from happening again. 💔
