Why Don Jazzy Remains Single at 41

Don Jazzy, the head of Mavin Records, has opened up about why he remains unmarried at the age of 41.

In an interactive session with fans on X, the renowned music producer shared his journey of self-improvement as the reason for his current single status. Responding to a fan’s inquiry about his marital status, Don Jazzy explained that he is focused on bettering himself to ensure that his future partner will truly enjoy their relationship.

He wrote in pidgin English, “I dey work on myself so that when my head correct, my babe go enjoy me,” which translates to, “I’m working on myself. Once I’m 100 percent, my partner will enjoy me.”

In 2021, Don Jazzy revealed that he had been married at the age of 20 but divorced two years later. He attributed the breakdown of his marriage to his intense dedication to his music career. The music executive had been married to Michelle Jackson, a UK-based writer and model.

Reflecting on his past, he said, “For so long everyone keeps asking me when am I getting married. Well, the truth is that almost 18 years ago, I was 20 and I got married to my best friend Michelle and it was beautiful. I loved love and I loved marriage. Michelle is so beautiful inside and outside with such a soft heart. But then me being so young and full of dreams I went and messed it up because I was giving all my time to my music. Music became a priority instead of my family. We got divorced when I was 22 and it hurt.”

Don Jazzy added, “I am still very much in love with my music and I wouldn’t want to marry another and mess it up again. So I’m taking my time.”

The candid revelation sheds light on Don Jazzy’s commitment to personal growth and ensuring that when he does settle down again, he will be fully prepared to give his best to his partner.
