Travis Scott’s Italy Concert Marred By Pepper Spray Incident

Travis Scott’s highly-anticipated concert in Rome’s iconic Circus Maximus on Monday, July 22nd, 2024, was marred by an unfortunate pepper spray incident that left approximately 60 people in need of medical treatment.

The incident occurred during the concert, causing mild eye and throat irritation among the affected attendees. Some concertgoers were seen crying and climbing over barricades in a bid to escape the chaos.

The sold-out show, part of Scott’s Circus Maximus Tour, had earlier generated excitement among fans, with some even mistaking the energetic crowd’s jumping for an earthquake.

However, the pepper spray incident cast a shadow over the event, raising concerns about concert safety. This is not the first time a Travis Scott concert has been associated with tragedy, following the devastating crowd rush at his 2021 Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, which resulted in 10 fatalities and dozens of injuries.

Despite the incident, Scott’s Italy leg of the tour has been a commercial success, with his Milan show on July 23 attracting an estimated 80,000 fans and breaking ticket sales records. The rapper has become the only artist to achieve the most ticket sales in Italy, surpassing Taylor Swift.

The authorities are currently investigating the pepper spray incident, and Scott’s team has yet to comment on the matter.
