Sports Tribunal Says Manchester City Can Still In UCL Next Season.(See Reason)

Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), on Wednesday, confirmed that City have lodged an appeal against their suspension for “serious breaches” of UEFA’s financial regulations, and has stated that the club might participate in the UEFA Champions League next season.

However, CAS stated that “it is not possible” to say when the matter will be resolved.

The Daily Mail reports that if the case exceeds June 1, City could find themselves playing in Europe’s top club competition.

Last year, admissions had to have reached UEFA by June 3, which is eight days before the preliminary draw for the Champions League.

If the same process is put in place for the 2020/2021 edition, then City would be allowed into the competition, should their appeal still be unresolved by June 1.

This would, however, mean they would be banned for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 campaigns.
