First Campus TV Station, UnilagTv, Sets To Kickoff Operation

Record is set to maintain again as University of Lagos, UNILAG planned to unleash her Television Station on campus.

UnilagTv being the first official Campus based TV station would start transmitting today, the 17th of January. This as contained in report from SofoVilla. 

In the development, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, University of Lagos, Dr Wale Babalakin, said this on Tuesday at a briefing on UNILAG TV at the University’s Senate building, the station would begin operation on StarTimes’ Channel 184.

He therefore used the opportunity urging the University and environs to be the source of outstanding intellectual discourse, accurate news and solutions to societal problems.

According to him:

I hope this station will be the centre of very interesting discussions. I am hoping that it will be a centre of correct and accurate news and will begin the end of fake news in Nigeria.

“We are hoping that it will bring back the vibrancy of intellectual discourse and become a great centre. I really look forward to you providing what is missing today.

“A lot of TV stations have done very well, but I believe there is room for a TV station that will acquire the reputation of being a source of the most outstanding intellectual discourse. I want UNILAG TV to always bring together the leaders of opinion, the most resourceful people and the most intellectual people in every area to discuss issues.”

To butress it all, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Toyin Ogundipe, said the television station would see to the education, information and entertainment of students and the people of Lagos State.
