ELECTION RESULT: INEC Postpones Proceedings On “No SCOPE”

DEVELOPING: Just moments after the formal opening of national collation center in Abuja, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, therefore postponed the proceedings of official announcement of election results.

The decision by INEC came at the expense of Nigerians wanting to know the official results as collated across all states of the federation. INEC said the development was triggered as no State Collation Officer for the Presidential Election (SCOPE) was said to be present therefore stating another schedule:

“At the moment no SCOPE (State Collation Officer for the Presidential Election) is around. Some of them are expected tonight. Accordingly, proceedings are hereby adjourned. We will reconvene at 11am tomorrow 25th February, 2019 for the collation of results”

Hon. Chairman INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu
