CARPET-CROSSING: PDP Stalwart “Moyosore Ogunlewe” Defects To APC (Latest)

It was a triumphal fanfare on Thursday, 16th May, 2019 in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos, as Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe popularly known as Moyo, formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to the development, Ogunlewe, who was a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2015 and 2019 general elections, lost twice in his bid to represent Kosofe Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The official declaration which took place at Ogudu Junior Grammar School, Ogudu GRA, Lagos to formalize his memebership of the APC, witnessed thousands of his supporters within and outside Kosofe, who accompanied him to the venue to denounce membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, amidst glitz and glamour.

Speaking at the defection ground, a delightful Moyo garbed in a colourful APC attire mirroring the ‘Next Level’ symbol said his arrival is aimed at strengthening the progressive fold in the country.

He further saluted leaders of the party for receiving him with an open heart.

A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency II, Hon. Tunde Braimoh, said the coming of the decampees is an indication that the party is healthy and acceptable.

“In APC, there is no founder, there is no joiner; it’s a party navigated by the people’s, wish; It is a great opportunity to have you join the APC fold,” Braimoh said.

The Chairman, APC Kosofe, Alhaji Kehinde Bello said the Kosofe APC is happy to have Moyo in their midst.

He noted that the party is a platform for political breakthrough .

Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe is a lawyer and son of former PDP chieftain and Minister of Works.
