Edo State Election Boost: APC and PDP Generates N219m From Sales of Interest And Nomination Forms

The Edo State general election is few months around the corner but the two heavy weight parties, PDP and APC have started generating lots of in-house revenue as the both parties generated N219m from just the sale of Edo State Governorship forms.

The form doesn’t guarantee you a straight ticket as the club’s flag bearer, as it only puts you in a spot to contest for the primaries first.

The APC generated N135m (N2.5m for expression of interest while nomination form was sold for N20m), while the PDP made N84m from the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms (interest form, N1m while nomination form, N20m).

Six men bought the forms and three of them including Governor Godwin Obaseki, were disqualified, while 2 others stepped down for Ize-Iyamu who eventually won the primary.

Is this not shocking? You paid such a huge amount of money, only to be disqualified or step down for another.
