Nigerian musician, songwriter, and producer, Aituaje Iruobe, alias Waje, went down memory lane as she narrated her experience and how she got pregnant during her Senior Secondary School days (SSS3).
Waje who shared her experience in a recent chat with gospel singer, Bouqui, said her pregnancy made her leave the church choir as it happened during her West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
“I got into a relationship in SSS3 and the relationship went from ‘puppy love’ to sexual love. I felt I loved him, as he was handsome and was all over me. I remember one afternoon, when I was in the bathroom, a friend came and told me that our pastor wanted to see me, then I knew I was in big trouble. I was removed from the church choir and pastor advised I should always come to church every Wednesday and Sunday as he will be monitoring my every move.” Waje said.
Waje who said her mother didn’t know she was pregnant, revealed she was heartbroken when she found, but as at then, she had finished writing her WASSCE exams.
“I told my mother after my exams, after our morning devotion, but I was 5-months gone already and she was heartbroken because she knew the boy who was responsible.”
