Court Reinstates Secondus As PDP National Chairman.

Few days after he was asked to vacate office, a High Court sitting in Kebbi state has ordered Uche Secondus to return to his position as the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party.

Prior to the announcement of Secondus’ reinstatement, Yemi Akinwonmi was confirmed as Acting National Chairman.

A statement by Justice Nusrat Umar at the Birin-Kebbi High Court, has ordered that Uche Secondus be reinstated back to office on Thursday.

The order reads as follows:

“An order of this Honourable court granting leave to the first respondent (Uche Secondus) to continue exercising all the constitutional powers of the office of Chairman of PDP (second defendant) as enshrined in both 1999 Constitution of Nigeria as amended and the Peoples Democratic Party’s constitution pending the hearing and final determination of applicant’s motion on notice.”

It should be recalled that earlier this week, Justice O. Gbasam of the Degema Judicial Division vacation court, sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State had granted an interim injunction restraining Secondus from parading himself as chairman and member of the PDP pending the determination of an ex parte application.
