Black Sherif Earns Historic BET Awards 2025 Nomination

Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has secured a nomination for Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career.

This nomination positions him as the first Ghanaian artiste to be recognized in this category since the BET Awards merged the Best International Act: Africa and Best International Act: UK categories in 2018.

The 22-year-old artiste, known for his compelling storytelling and genre-blending sound, will compete against a diverse group of international talents. Nominees in the category include Nigeria’s Ayra Starr and Rema, South Africa’s Tyla, Swaziland’s Uncle Waffles, Brazil’s Any Gabrielly and MC Luanna, France’s Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM, and the UK’s Basky and Ezra Collective.
