William Troost-Ekong Makes Comeback for PAOK After Long Injury Hiatus

Super Eagles vice-captain William Troost-Ekong played his first game in seven months during PAOK Salonica’s friendly against AEK Larnaca. The Greek Super League champions secured a 2-1 victory.

Troost-Ekong had been sidelined following surgery for an injury sustained at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. The 30-year-old returned to training towards the end of last season but was not deemed fit enough to play for the club. Consequently, he was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to fitness concerns.

Additionally, he has been linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
