ASUU STRIKE, All Hope Awoken Today

All hope awoken as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) will today address members of the public on her decision towards offers made to it by Federal Government.

Report reads that ASUU National President, Prof Abiodun Ogunyemi made this clear in a briefing yesterday.

According to TheNation, ASUU had earlier urged the Federal government to relay concrete evidence of commitment to agreements on meeting its demands on its on-going strike.

Meanwhile, Minister of Labour & Employment, Chris Ngige, after meeting with the union on January 4, said the government was about resolving the dispute with the lecturers who embarked on strike on November 5, last year.

To butress it, Dr. Ngige said the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Accountant- General of the Federation had provided evidence that N15.4 billion for the payment of salary shortfall in public universities.
