Here Are The Most Peaceful Countries In Africa 2020.

In it’s recent data-driven analysis the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) has ranked 163 countries across the World in the 14th edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI).

The GPI covers 99.7 per cent of the world’s population and measures the state of peace across three domains: the level of Societal Safety and Security; the extent of Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict; and the degree of Militarisation.

The results this year show that the level of global peacefulness deteriorated, with the average country score falling by 0.34 per cent.

In its report released on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, Nigeria was ranked 40th out of 45 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, and 147th globally.

Global peacefulness has deteriorated over the past year, with this being the fourth time in the last five years that the world has seen a fall in peacefulness.

According to the Global Peace Index, Iceland remains the most peaceful country in the world, a position it has held since 2008. It is joined at the top of the index by New Zealand, Austria, Portugal, and Denmark.

6. Tanzania (52nd in the World).

7. Namibia (53rd in the World).

10. Equatorial Guinea (60th in the World).

11. Madagascar (62nd in the World).

12. Rwanda (81st in the World).

13. Morocco (83rd in the World).

14. Guinea (89th in the World).

15. Angola (91st in the World).

16. Tunisia (92nd in the World).

17. Gabon (95th in the World).

18. Lesotho (98th in the World).

Nigeria has been ranked as one of the least peaceful countries in Africa in the 2020 edition of Global Peace Index.
