For Those Trying To Visit Rivers State, Take Note of This New Development

Rivers State, which is one of the states battling increased cases of the current pandemic, has issued warnings to visitors, as they will be isolated for a period of 14-days following the resumption of local flights at the state airport.

The statement was made by the state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, during a chat with newsmen in the state. According to Nsirim, the lifting of local and inter-state movement may cause more harm than good, as it might lead to an increase rate of the infection.

The Commissioner, also appealed to airport workers to ensure that the 14-day isolation issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) is to be observed, as he also called on residents of the state to be on a watch out for those coming into the state, as some people might be coming from a region where the virus is heavily affected.

“The Governor has showed true leadership in the fight against the spread of the disease, due to the measures and policies he put in place. It is very likely that the disease can be imported to the state, so everyone has to be vigilant.” Nsirim said.

I think it will be difficult to keep people via the 14-day isolation rules because, not everyone comes or travel by air. Everyone needs to fight the virus, and observe all the rule and regulations as they are not just doing it for their neighbors alone, but for themselves, family and loved ones.
