Play Network studios and FilmOne Entertainment’s popular 2002 classic Nollywood movie remake, “Aki and Pawpaw” has grossed impressively in box office in it’s opening weekend.
The comedy which premiered on December 17, reportedly grossed an impressive N30 million in box office in its opening weekend.
Confirming the film’s huge feat, Filmone Entertainment wrote on it’s Instagram page;

The film’s impressive opening weekend numbers comes amid the release of major titles including Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

The remake of the movie, “Aki and Pawpaw” directed by Biodun Stephen follows the mischievous brothers as they try to make a life for themselves after coincidentally falling into fame and riches through the help of social media.
‘Aki and Pawpaw‘ also stars Toyin Abraham, Funny Bone, Lasisi Elenu, Beverly Osu, Amaechi Muonagor (who reprises his role as the twin’s father), Juliet Ibrahim, Uti, Real Warri Pikin, Hanks Anuku, Charles Inojie and more.
The new remake is written by Steph Boyo and Ozoioma Ogbaji and produced by Chris Odeh, Mimi Bartels, Agozie Agwu.
