#LegitLists: Here Are Five Nigerian Female Artiste That Can Sell Out The O2 Arena.

Just a few Nigerian artistes have staged and sold out some of the biggest events at the 20,000 capacity O2 multi-purpose indoor arena.

Amongst these few are African music giants Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy.

Nigerian superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, was the first Nigerian artist to sell out the London O2 arena in May 2018, followed by Davido and Burnaboy.

Davido just even recently shut down the O2 Arena on March 5, 2022.

The O2 Arena has the second-highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the United Kingdom, behind the Manchester Arena. The arena is a well-known venue primarily used for music, concerts, or live performances.

As of 2021, the O2 Arena was still the busiest music arena in the world in terms of ticket sales.

At the moment there is no notable record of any Nigerian female artiste staging a event at this prestigious arena. However, there should be no barrier to a female artist staging and confidently selling out the O2 Arena. As there are countless numbers of Nigerian female artistes who can achieve this feat easily.

In this piece we highlight five Nigerian female artistes we think can confidently shut down and sell out an event in the O2 Arena.

ASA.

Asa is a Nigerian songwriter, recording artist, and one of Nigeria’s most valuable musicians. Asa has a large audience of global and local listeners and can possibly shut down the O2 Arena if she stages an event there.

Tems has proved to be a key figure in the new age of Nigerian music. The singer got global recognition in 2021 thanks to the success of Wizkid’s Essence where she gave the chorus. Having over 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify to become the most-streamed African artiste, Tems can confidently sell out an event in the O2 Arena.

SIMI.

Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and actress. With five successful projects (Ogaju, Simisola, Chemistry, Omo Charlie Champagne, and Restless) in her discography Simi has been recognised globally and can definitely sell out the O2 Arena with her huge fan base.

SINACH

Nigerian Gospel singer, Sinach has not just made a name for gospel singers in the country but also for female singers too. In 2020 Sinach topped Billboard’s Christian songwriter charts for 7 weeks consecutively. This made Sinach the first African Christian musician to achieve such feat. The success of her tour in India that same year has shown that she can confidently sell out an event at the O2 too.

YEMI ALADE.

After setting the YouTube record by being the Nigerian music video with the most views at 78.8 million streams, for her hit single Johnny, Yemi Alade has been recognised as the Mama Africa among female artistes in the continent. With a huge global fanbase Yemi Alade can confidently sell out a show in the O2 Arena.

TIWA SAVAGE.

Being the first woman to win the award of Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards of 2018. Tiwa Savage is another Nigerian female singer that has the capability of pulling a crowd that can fill up the prestigious O2 Arena.
