Guchi asks for reduced speed in her new single -Speedometer
Nigerian Afropop singer ‘Guchi’, is set to usher her fans into the second half of 2022 with her newest release. Tagged “Speedometer”, the song describes the exhilarating feeling of falling in love and compares the heady feeling to riding in a fast car.
The process of falling in love is sonically illustrated in this jivy Afrobeats tune, and Guchi aptly puts the fast and sweet feeling love brings into her music. She explains how you can bounce between exhilaration, euphoria, and increased energy when bit by the love bug. Guchi admits in the song that her lover’s gaze is starting something in her. She knows her lover wants something from her and wants to know what it is. She pleads with him to take it slow because it feels like a rush. At the same time, she expresses the fuzzy and intoxicating feeling that comes with a new romantic connection.
