Fast rising Nigerian singer, Tems has been sensational ever since her entry into the music industry in 2018. Her talented vocals and lyrical creativity earned her a place in Wizkid’s globally acclaimed “Made In Lagos” 2020 album where she featured in the record-breaking and chart-topping single “Essence”.
One of the Interesting facts about Tems whose real name is Temilade Openiyi was that she first caught the eye of the mainstream music industry with her single “Mr. Rebel,” which she performed and composed in 2018.

Tems once revealed that her revealed that her top three Anime shows are: ‘Attack on Titan’, ‘Darker Than Black’, and ‘Demon Slayer’. As she affirmed that she is an active fan and lover of Anime movies.
TEMS WAS INTO MARKETING BEFORE MUSIC.
Incase you never knew, this amazing singer was once a marketing executive with two marketing degrees under her belt. She worked as a marketer after graduating from the University in South Africa.
TEMS HAS BEEN FEATURED ON BARRACK OBAMA’S PLAYLIST TWICE.
Tems has been featured twice on former USA’s president, Barrack Obama’s music playlist. The first was in 2020 when she collaborated with Khalid on the remix of his song “Know Your Worth”. The song made it to the list of Barack Obama’s 2020 Summer Playlist. While the second was courtesy of her feature on WizKid’s “Essence.”
TEMS IS PARTLY BRISITSH, PARTLY NIGERIAN.
Tems is partly British by descent. Her Father is British while her Mother is Nigerian. She was however born in Nigeria so that makes her a Nigerian by birth and by maternal roots, but her family moved to the UK after she was born.

TEMS IS A MUSIC PRODUCER.
Aside from singing and songwriting, Tems also works actively as a music producer. In case you never knew she produces some of her music herself.
Her journey with Production started after she was frustrated with the type of beats Producers kept sending her. So she turned to Youtube to learn how to produce.
She wrote and produced 90% of the songs on her 2020 EP For Broken Ears.
TEMS APPEARED ON BILLBOARD 100 FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2021.
In 2021, Wizkid and Essence became the first Nigerians to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 music chart with their song “Essence”. The song debuted at No.82 in its first week and went on to peak at No.72 as of July 21, 2021.
