EPL: Here is why Man City and Man United opening weekend’s fixtures got postponed

The premier league season starts in about 4-weeks from now, and teams are already gearing up for the return of English Football which begins on 12 September, 2020.

One notable surprise from the first week is the postponement of Manchester United and Manchester City first matches of the season. According to the fixtures, Manchester United are to go away to Burnely, while Manchester City are to welcome Aston Villa to the Etihad Stadium.

However, the Manchester City and Manchester United matches where postponed because of their late involvement in European football ball, just four weeks before the season resumes. Instead, Manchester United will play their first game at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace on September 19, while Manchester City will play Wolves.

Chelsea and Wolves who also had the same similarities as the Manchester clubs, will play their first EPL matches 2-days after.
