Jude Bellingham Faces Two-Match Ban in La Liga After Referee Outburst

Real Madrid’s dynamic forward, Jude Bellingham, is set to serve a two-match suspension in La Liga following a contentious incident in the game against Valencia. The England international expressed his frustration with referee Gil Manzano after a goal was not awarded at the end of the match on March 2, 2024.

Bellingham contested that the whistle blew while the ball was in the air, making it eligible for a goal, but the referee disagreed. In his official report, Manzano stated that he issued a red card to Bellingham because the player approached him aggressively, yelling and insisting, “It’s f**king goal!”

Valencia took the lead in the first half with a goal from Hugo Duro and extended it to 2-0 with Roman Yaremchuk capitalizing on Dani Carvajal’s errant back pass. Real Madrid managed to pull one back just before halftime through Vinícius Jr., narrowing the deficit. The Brazilian continued to be instrumental, securing his ninth league goal with a close-range header in the second half.

As a consequence of his outburst, Bellingham’s suspension adds a layer of challenge for Real Madrid as they navigate their upcoming fixtures in La Liga.
