Tennis Star, Andy Murray Tests Positive For Coronavirus.

British Tennis star, Andy Murray has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus ahead of his participation in the Australian open.

The former world number one was due to travel to Australia on one of a series of charter flights laid on by tournament organisers but is still isolating at home in London.

It is understood that Murray, who is said to be in good health, is hoping to be able to arrive in Australia at a later date and participate in the year’s first grand slam, which begins on 8 February.

The 33-year-old is a five-time runner-up in Melbourne.

Players are due to begin arriving in the country within the next 24 hours before completing a two-week period of quarantine, during which they are allowed out of their rooms to practice for five hours a day.

Tennis Australia said players were only allowed into Australia with proof of a negative Covid-19 test prior to departure, or with approval as a recovered case at the discretion of the Australian government.
