Popular Nigerian film-maker, Kemi Adetiba is engaged.
On Wednesday, February 8, 2022, the award-winning director published photographs from her engagement with a lengthy statement on her Instagram page.
“We’ve taken some time to savour this moment in privacy and revel in the glory of it all.”
“However, we’re beginning to realize that maintaining a lid on this for much longer may be impossible,” she wrote.
“After much deliberation, we’ve decided that we’d prefer to make this news on our own terms and with our own unique story. Plus, you’ve all been here since the beginning and lovingly root for me – if that isn’t FAMILY, I don’t know what is:)”, Kemi added.
She didn’t forget to tell her admirers the precise date on which her soon-to-be husband, Oscar, proposed to her.
“So, dear FAMILY, on the 28th of January in Ghana, @oscarhemanackah asked that we spend the rest of our life with, and I fully replied YES… without a single hesitation,” she stated.
“I’d want to emphasize here that any of my friends or family members who conspired in this surprise proposal should be prepared for my revenge… Because it’ll be ruthless!!”
“Oscar and I will only share as much of ourselves as we feel comfortable with.” There won’t be any more… and there won’t be any less. We hope you understand and will bear with us in this matter.
“As we count down to further celebrations and the remainder of our life together, thank you for the incredible love and generosity you will definitely show us. There isn’t a single ounce of fear in this place.
“Oh, and before you say it… He knows he’s a very VERY lucky man… But the beautiful thing about our connection and journey so far… I know I’m a supremely lucky woman too. Please wish us well and keep us in your prayers. Here’s to New Beginnings!! (*ps* We’re planning a REAL “Wedding Party” y’all),” She wrote.
