Victor Thompson Joins Gunna for an Electrifying Live Performance of ‘This Year’.

Just as Afrobeats has taken the world by storm, African gospel music is now poised for global recognition.

At Gunna’s recent concert held at the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles, he extended a special invitation to Victor Thompson to share the stage, and together they delivered a breathtaking rendition of their chart-topping hit, “This Year.”

Victor Thompson, a renowned gospel songwriter and singer, is the creative force behind the latest sensation, “This Year,” originally a collaboration with Ehis D Greatest. However, for Gunna’s live performance, Victor Thompson stepped into the spotlight, enchanting the audience with his melodious and soul-stirring vocals. “This Year” soared to No. 43 on the Afrobeat chart’s Top 50 List and climbed to No. 35 in February.

In other exciting news, Victor Thompson recently collaborated with Limoblaze on the hit single “My Matter,” featuring UK artist Becca Folkes. Afrogospels have solidified their presence and are here to stay.

Gunna’s concert followed a recent controversy involving Young Thug. Both artists faced a RICO indictment, with a total of 65 charges collectively filed against Young Thug, Gunna, and their associates from Young Street Life (YSL). Prosecutors alleged that YSL had ties to the Bloods and was classified as a “criminal street gang” responsible for a series of violent crimes in the Atlanta region, including homicides and armed robberies.

Gunna has faced allegations of cooperation with authorities, ultimately walking away from the case unscathed.
