South Africa Eases COVID-19 Lockdown Restrictions.

Despite having the highest reported cases of COVID-19 in Africa. South Africa government has made moves to ease lockdown restriction orders in the country.

Allowing some industries to reopen after five weeks of restrictions that plunged its struggling economy deeper into turmoil. With 5,647 confirmed cases and 103 fatalities, South Africa has the continent’s highest COVID-19 death toll.

The government states that despite the ease in lockdown restriction for essential services industries and personnel. Social distancing and wearing masks in public and at workplaces will be mandatory.

South Africa’s Cooperative Governance Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma warned that “companies that breach regulations will be forced to close.”
