17 Prison Inmates Test Positive For Covid-19 In Bauchi.

The Executive Chairman, Bauchi State Contact Tracing Committee on COVID-19, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, announced on Saturday that 17 prison inmates of a correctional facility in the state had tested positive for Covid-19.

Dr. Mohammed, in a press briefing on Saturday, revealed that 51 medical officers had also tested for Covid-19 in the state.

The chairman, however, lamented that one of the medical personnel lost his life to the virus in the line of duty.

Dr. Mohammed revealed that fourteen of the tested inmates are already been attended to in the states isolation centre.

Mohammad, however, advised health workers in the state to be very vigilant and ensure that they properly make use of their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

According to NCDC reports Bauchi state had so far recorded 402 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 230 had been discharged, 11 deaths and 161 patients on admission.
