University of Ibadan Confirms Gov. Obaseki’ Degree.

The University of Ibadan on Wednesday confirmed that Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, passed through its walls and earned a degree in from the school.

On Tuesday the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, had earlier cast doubt on the legitimacy of Obaseki’s University of Ibadan certificate, allegedly stating that it was fake.

The University’s clarification was prompted by allegations that Obaseki, who is running for a second term in office in September, did not complete a first degree at the prestigious institution.

But Mr Obaseki actually gained admission in 1976 and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Honours, Lower Division, the university said in a statement on Wednesday.

A statement signed by the school registrar, Mrs Olubunmi Faluyi revealed that he completed his first degree at the institution. She stated as follows;

“Records of his admission and graduation are intact in the archives of the university,”
