“No Mask, No Entry”- Amaechi Reveals New Rules As Train Services Set To Kick Off By Wednesday

The Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, has disclosed during a brief meeting in Abuja, that he will shut down train services if passengers fail to wear their face masks or remove it during the journey.

Amaechi also warned, that policemen will be deployed on each coach to enforce the masks wearing rule, but if anyone refuses to obey, he driver will stop. According to reports, train services will begin on Wednesday as numbers of passengers will be reduced from 80 to about 50, and the fare will be increased from N1,500 to N3,000 for economy class, while first class will increase from N5,000 to N6,000.

“We have increased the number of policemen on each coach. So immediately you remove your mask, the police will ask you to wear it back for respect. If you refuse, the driver will have to stop.” Amaechi said.

These are one of the many regulations set by the Federal Government to curb the spread of the present pandemic that is affecting Nigeria and the world at large. On the other hand, when it comes to the policemen on the coaches, they should be fully educated on how to address passengers, as most citizens will always kick against the use of policemen due to the history of police and citizens.
