Manchester United forward and former PSG and Napoli star player, Edinson Cavani, has tender an apology to his fans after he was fined and given 3 match suspension by FA.
Cavani was fined £100,000 for his use of the word “negrito” in a social media post he made to a friend after coming off the bench to score twice in their 3-2 win over Southampton in late November.
Cavani who have apologized after his post, said it was intended as an affectionate greeting to his friend and was not meant to cause any offence before deleting the message.
Reacting to the news of his fine and suspension, Cavani dropped an apology message on his official social media page as he accepts the disciplinary actions from the English FA.
“Hello everyone. I do not want to extend much in this uncomfortable moment for me. I want to share with you that I accept the disciplinary sanction knowing that I am foreign to English language customs, but I do not share the point of view. I apologize if I offended someone with an expression of affection to a friend, nothing further in my intention.” Cavani tweeted.
